All stories on this website are free to read. You may not print, copy, or distribute for any reason the stories on this website. All stories are the sole property of "Ladies of a Certain Age" (Dorothy & Kathy)

Dorothy is a retired educator with a bit more than four decades as a general education teacher, special education teacher, school diagnostician, and special education administrator. Dorothy will admit to having some experience as a writer in her field [dissertation, writing grants, and other educational documents] but happily left that behind and jumped feet first into writing strictly for pleasure. Okay. So as not offend the image of writing as bleeding on paper [best to avoid this if writing on a computer], there can be some monumental effort required.

She claims complete innocence in tutoring her partner…we are equally responsible for our crimes against literature. Kathy may have been assisted in leaving reality behind when necessary for a story, but, otherwise brings her own special gifts to this partnership.

They hope that the stories they share will be fun reading. Leaving their educational roles in the rear-view mirror, these stories do not pretend to have any socially redeeming outcomes. Some are serious, but most are intended for fun and/or adventure.

Kathy is a retired School Psychologist/Administrator who can’t remember taking a creative writing course. With the thought of writing for her grandchildren, she hooked up with an experienced writer who is patiently tutoring her for free! Best of all, it is two associates and friends who meet weekly and share political thoughts, think up quirky plots and laugh a lot.

Both of us believe in life-long learning. However, rather than risking rejection of our stories to endless contests, we determined that it would be fun to share on our own website. We hope that sharing our stories may inspire others to find the joy of writing, along with the pain of continuous proof-reading.
